Immediate Action for Health Freedom
This Action eAlert offers all health freedom advocates a unique and important opportunity to bring Health Freedom into the well-deserved limelight of national and international attention. We have a unique and narrow window of opportunity, from January 5 - January 15, 2009 provided to us by the clever and innovative use of the internet by www.Change.org.
During that time, visitors to the site will be able to determine which of the ideas presented are important to them and vote for those ideas. The top ten ideas will be presented to President Obama on Inauguration Day and announced at the National Press Club. When we found out about it, the Natural Solutions Foundation instantly asked all of our many supporters and friends to jump on the opportunity. Perhaps you saw our email about this vote. Between the evening of December 30 and close of voting December 31, 2008, we were able to catapult Health Freedom from 98th place to 3rd place, qualifying Health Freedom for the second, and final, round of voting. All of you who voted in Round One: THANK YOU for making this possible!!
This shows that the "net root" members of the Health Freedom community are coming together with this outstanding opportunity and we can all agree on one thing: that Health Freedom MUST come in as idea number 1 since Health Freedom IS Our First Freedom. All other freedoms derive from it. If we are not the owners of our bodies, then we cannot consider ourselves free men and women, nor the legitimate custodians and guardians of our children. We estimate that it will take at least 25,000 votes to secure a top position in Round Two.
So the Trustees of the Natural Solutions Foundation urge you to join us in propagating this opportunity as widely as you can. Voting is a bit complicated so follow these instructions carefully and forward them when you ask your lists, your friends, your groups, your contacts, your associates and everyone else you can think of, to vote:
1. Between January 5th and January 15, visit www.change.org/ideas/view/health_freedom and vote for Health Freedom to bring it in as one of the top 10 ideas. A Press Conference at the National Press Club and a prsentation to President Obama on Inauguration day will thrust Health Freedom into the national and interantional lime light, which is where it belongs since Health Freedom IS Our First Freedom.
Voting starts at noon on January 5. Go www.change.org/ideas/view/health_freedom, then either -> "Ideas" in the upper right hand part of the screen or -> "Log In" if you have an account. Sign up for an account if you do not have one yet. Then scroll down the "Ideas" page about 3/4 of the way until you find "Health Care". Click on our Idea, "Health Freedoom IS Our First Freedom". You will see a box that says "Vote" in the upper left hand corner of the page which will have a number in it. Clicking there is how you cast a vote for Health Freedom. You are most welcome to leave a message, but voting consists of clicking on the box with the numbers in it - previous people coming for an eco tourism day. Please let everyone know that leaving a comment or trying to set up another page is NOT a vote for Health Freedom. ONLY clicking on the box counts as a vote for Health Freedom. You may have to sign-up for the web site to vote.
2. Visit www.care.com and sign in if you are already registered, or sign up for an account if you are not registered yet. Then visit http://www.care2.com/c2c/share/detail/1005813 to leave a comment. When enough people have done that, we can have the information sent to the entire network of 10 million care2 members, asking them to vote, too.

Dr. Rima Recommends Vitamin D3: Immune System Essential 
Vitamin D3 - Essential For Health
| Vitamin D3 is, in essence, crystalized sunshine. All sources of D3, from musrooms to human skin, require sunlight to manufacture this essential substance.
We are learning that Vitamin D malnutrition may be associated to chronic diseases like high blood pressure, tuberculosis, cancer, periodontal (gum) disease, MS, chronic pain, depression, schizophrenia, SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), peripheral artery disease and various autoimmune diseases. Low vitamin D levels are associated with Parkinson's disease. In fact, a recent study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition (Norman, August, 08) shows that at least 36 organs of the body can become compromised through lack of Vitamin C including bone, breast, prostate, immune functions, liver, heart, pancrease (insulin) and a host of other organs and function. Muscle strength, increased risk of falling, and colorectal, prostate, breast and other major cancers all become more common in the absence of sufficient Vitamin D. Getting enough of the right kind of Vitamin D can be a challenge. Few foods are naturally rich in D3, no matter how urgently we require it. 1 tablespoon of Cod Liver Oil contains 1,360 IU, 1 egg contains 20 IU. But cancer prevention or the treatment of osteoporosis, for example, may require 10,000 IU per day. Maximum production by your own body, with full body sun exposure is about 10,000 IU per day. Most of us do not spend our days naked in full sunshine, so that is not an effective option for most people. Vitamin D overdose can occur, but there is no need to worry about overdose at reasonable levels: all known cases of vitamin D toxicity with hypercalcemia have involved intake of more than 40,000 IU/day.
A good source of natural, non GMO free Vitamin D is essential to your health. General Bert and I take 10,000 IU per day, the amount that our bodies would make, given the chance. General Bert's osteoporosis (caused by years of heavy steroid use for asthma before I met him - no asthma and no steroids now thanks to natural medicine) has gotten significantly better on this regimen and I use it for prevention since women in my family tend to get severe osteoporosis.
Of course, any time you take high levels of Vitamin A from any source (like the fish oil I hope you are taking), you need protective levels of Vitamin D3.
