We're Off Again!

So much has been happening it's hard to know where to begin! First of all, later today General Stubblebine and I will be heading for the airport to fly to Africa where we will meet with several Ministers of Health and Codex Committee members and chairs to support their participation in the emerging health coalition at Codex. Their immediate task? Support South Africa's heroic initiative and hold the Ottawa Beachhead !

This historic turnaround gave Codex 11 principles to guide its mandated implementation of the WHO Global Strategy on Diet, Physical Activity and Health, a strongly pro-health document adopted by the World Health Assembly in 2004. This mandate represents the first time in Codex's history that "Optimal health" has been debated. Our job is to help get it included!

Of course, we will be discussing and promoting the Codex "Two Step" applied to the Dietary Supplement issue in the information-packed, uniquely significant Codex eBookhttp://www.healthfreedomusa.org/resources/books.shtml). We will visit several African countries on this mission and then head to Geneva where the Codex Alimentarius Commission is meeting from July 3-7. That's where the Beachhead will be won or lost -- this time. Win, loose or draw, however, we will be pushing for more, more, more. It is, after all, OUR planet and OUR health. We will be building the national constituencies for that position inside -- and outside -- of Codex.

Next, we have been attending scientific meetings and lecturing widely. At two of them I was both surprised and deeply gratified to hear my name called when it was awards time! In fact, the International Open University for Complementary Medicines -USA was kind enough to award me a Distinguished Award of Excellence for "having contributed significantly towards a Global Movement for the ingtegration of all medicines and for the continued service to humanity". Wow!

 

 

Two weeks later, in Nassau, the Bahamas, the World Organization of Natural Medicine presented me with an Illuminated Diploma of Honor "for the service to humanity, having participated in the cultural life of the global community, to share in scientific advancement and its benefits for humanity. Double wow!

OK, so General Stubblebine and I are off to Africa, Codex and then India and probably China for the purpose of alerting, informing and creating a pro-health coalition inside Codex and outside of it as well. It's hard (hot) work with a gruelling flight and travel schedule followed by many meetings in a day and then back onto a plane. Pollution, heat, mosquitoes, you name it, we're facing it.
