I wrote this poem out of my sorrow that a dear friend continues to see the deterioration of the US, including the escalating threat to life and health which the continuing Japanese radiation brings to him and his family but continues to hope that there will be no need to leave and believe that when it is time to leave, he will know that the moment has come and still be able to leave.
