CONGRESS AT IT AGAIN! -- "Ex-Patriots" Targeted THE EX-PATRIOT ACT THREATENS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY! Two Senators, Chuck Schumer and Bob Casey, have just proposed a measure which General Bert and Doctor Rima asked me to write to you about. Dubbed the Ex-Patriot Act (S.3205), the absurd acronym for "Expatriation Prevention by Abolishing Tax-Related Incentives for Offshore Tenancy", this insane act has 2 main provisions:
1) Individuals who are deemed, in the sole discretion of the US government , to have renounced US citizenship in order to avoid US taxes, will be permanently barred from re-entering the United States.
2) Such individuals will also be required to pay a 30% capital gains tax to the United States government on ALL future investment gains derived from the US. Currently, non-citizens who do not reside in the US pay no US capital gains tax. Please note this new provision is in addition to the FACTA provision that will put a separate 30% withholding tax on certain off-shore investments starting next year. This past Sunday, House Speaker John Boehner told ABC News that he was throwing his support behind the bill. The Directors of the Fund are horrified by these measures and galvanized by them into contacting you to suggest, in the strongest terms, that because you are seriously considering moving assets off shore by investing in the Fund, doing so in the shortest possible time is in your best interests because of this move on the part of Congress to capture your wealth and control it completely. The purpose of this note is to let you know I am here to answer your questions and facilitate your participation on an urgent basis in light of these events. The window of opportunity is closing rapidly, as we have been warning. DR RIMA REPORTS FROM CHILE |  General Bert and I left the Valley of the Moon on the morning of May 19 and flew to Panama City. Although we were not leaving for Chile until May 20, I had been asked to speak at the inaugural meeting of the Panama Professional Speakers Association, the idea of my long-time friend and natural birthing advocate, Elizabeth Nobel.
My talk followed that of a world famous speaker, Dan Poynterr. Because Air Panama delayed their flight by 1.5 hours, I arrived just after Dan finished, I missed his talk but reviewed his notes. He instructed speakers NEVER to say anything that could upset the audience, NEVER to discuss politics, NEVER to talk about difficult or uncongenial subjects.
I took the floor and told him and the audience that I respectuflly disagreed and that my message was so very uncongenial that in order to make it audible I was compelled to say what people do not want to hear, what will upset the audience and to discuss politics at its most basic and malignant level.
I then proceeded to give illustrations of how I do that, using powerful, disturbing and, I hope, unforgetable images.
You see, there is siimply no way to propel awareness forward in the area that we, you and I, dare to deal with, without upsetting people, saying what they are not comfortable with and giving them uncongenial information.
You know from your own experience how often people cannot [yet] handle the truth. And you you know from your own epxerience that this message, these actions, this truth, is so vital that it MUST be said, shared, and expanded into mass awareness.
I am grateful to you for understanding that, for taking the message forward, for being one of the vanguard who CAN hear the inconvenient truth, who WILL focus on what is uncongenial because it is true and who DARES to bring that uncongenial truth to other people.

General Bert and I got on a plane for Chile the next day and landed in Santiago about 7 PM. Chile appears to be a fully functional country (defintely NOT like some we have been to on Foundation business!) and we once again appreciated the fully developed infrastructre of roads, tunnels, bridges, etc., at a "first world" level.
Our hotel is one of the many "Aparthotels" here in Santiago: a clean, well appointed small apartment with a kitchen and living room as well as sleeping and bathing acommodations. Simply delightful and very reasonable: they generally run from $50 to $75 per night, with daily maid service.
The next day, Monday, May 21 was a holiday so we were not able to carry out our paperwork mission of completing the registration of the Foundation's Chilean Corporation and our working papers but we did meet with our lawyer and did what we could in that process.
On Wednesday we go to the Immigration Police, hand in our papers and get our permits. Just like that. Registering is easy for Americans and other Northern Hemisphere migrants.
While we were not able to go to government offices yesterday, however, we did have the delight of walking through Santiago in the Fall and enjoying the street theater and liveliness of this clean, cosmopolitant and, somehow, peaceful city. 
Most of the shops and restaurants were closed in this center city district until we got to the area where the shopping malls are located, but we were once again impressed by the unique ambiance of Santiago: there is a tranquil feel that is quite unique and distinct from the energy of any city we have experienced before: not sleepy, but lively and peaceful. You'll have to experience it to get it!
Oh, by the way, despite a huge hassel at the Panama airport, I did get my Geiger Counter on the plane so I will be documenting readings here and letting you know what I find.
Last night we joined our lawyer for a delightful Korean dinner in a simple, stripped-down home style restaurant where almost everyone appeared to be Korean except us (a very good sign).
Ethnic diversity is alive and well in Chile and food -- organic and radiation-free -- is a pleasure here!
Tomorrow we will meet with our Organic, Fair Trade food exporter to work on the details of getting clean food to you from the Low Radiation Deep South through the Friendly Food Coop, www.FriendlyFoodCoop.org. Senator Durbin's unnecessary Amendment 2127 (Dietary Supplement Registration provision) would have required dietary companies to file with the government before selling nutrients. Under current law, manufacturers already register their facilities and marketers must notify the FDA about the claims they are making. Durbin's new regulartory burden would have harmed start-up and small companies most of all.
